Bursa shares climb as trading volume to set fresh record
KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Bursa Malaysia rose to a high of RM8.59 in Thursday morning trade as it is seen as a big beneficiary from the surge in trading volume which hit a fresh record high.
At midday, it was up 43 sen to RM8.43 with 5.96 million shares done.
The FBM KLCI rose 3.31 points or 0.21% to 1,586.81. Turnover was 7.06 billion shares vakued at RM2.41bil.
The trading volume is expected to break the record of 11.807 billion on Wednesday as traders pile into the penny stocks.
PDZ, which jumped in active with over one billion shares done on Wednesday, fell 3.5 sen with 477 million shares done. PDZ-WB lost one sen to 4.5 sen with 148.8 million units done.
Fintec, VC, DGB, MQTech and AT Systemization
, AirAsia
, Borneo Oil
and Iris were very actively traded.
